Romance Book Junction

Where romance readers and writers come together.

Laurie Sanders from Black Velvet Seductions will be conducting the workshop Deep Point of View -- Why It's Important to You and Your Readers during the entire month of August at the Coffee Time Romance site/forums. The topics to be covered will include the following:

- What do fiction readers want?
- Connecting the dots
- how does deep point of view give readers a satisfying experience? How is the reader's experience different with shallow point of view versus a deep point of view?
- How to decide whose point of view to use for key scenes, and how to make the best use out of that viewpoint.
- Deciding when and where and how to change point of view. Is changing viewpoint in the middle of a scene always bad?
- Author invisibility -- avoiding author point of view.
- Choosing details that deepen point of view - Infusing dialogue with point of view.
- Point of view and character motivation - your character has done a bad, bad thing - how can you use point of view to make the reader still root for him or her? (Otherwise known as working with flawed characters).

Visit: http://www.coffeetimeromance.com/board/forumdisplay.php?f=480 to register for the forums and to participate in this workshop. Please put Laurie2 in the space for referral so that your registration will be pushed through quickly. I look forward to seeing you at the workshop.
