Ooooh, you're right. I'd add anything by Nancy Butler up there as far as tortured heroes, too! I wish she was still writing. *sob*

Tortured heroes are the best kind. I need to unearth my Putneys and read through the Fallen Angels.
My favorite Putney would have to be her Christmas novella, "The Black Beast of Belleterre." Talk about tortured, but what a happy ending.

I have tons of favorites ~ The Rainbow Season is one of them. I've read it several times, but I think Phantom by Susan Kay is my all-time favorite.

My favorite Phantom was Davis Gaines. I saw hiim in the play 17 tmes and he just got better and better!

I *love* Michael Crawford!!! I really wish Phantom of the Opera had been filmed years ago when he was the Phantom and Sarah Brightman played Christine. Just a "Great Performances" type film of the stage production. Anything to have recorded that for posterity.

My favorite novel of Bertrice's is A MOMENT IN TIME. I have both the hardcover and the paperback packed away in a plastic tub, somewhere, from a recent move. Now I'd like to re-read it!

That's the only one of her historicals I haven't read yet. Will probably get to it in the summer after the new Hetar book comes out.
