Romance Book Junction

Where romance readers and writers come together.

I'm in the mood for books set in the Tudor, Elizabethan or Victorian eras, set in England. If you ladies can give me some recommendations for books, or authors who write those eras, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Kady -- Susan Carroll writes heavily in Tudor/Elizabethan England. I recently read her THE HUNTRESS, which was quite good. Some political intrigue, a bit of witchcraft, a very nice lead couple -- it reminded me a lot of the meaty romantic historicals (as opposed to straight historical romance) a la Pamela Belle I used to read and love years ago. Apparently the book is part of a trilogy, too.

Julia Quinn has a great series that is called the Bridgerton series, I think that there are like 9 books total. They are definitely in that period. They have a little of everything mixed in.

I highly recommend Amanda Quick for awesome Victorian romances, and if you like Regency era romances, Loretta Chase is AWESOME!

I'd like to recommend a Victorian set book by Tracy Goodwin. I really enjoyed DANCE WITH DECEPTION. Her cover alone is worth getting the book, it's gorgeous. I've purchased a few extra copies for gifts in the past few months.

Phillipa Gregory has some great Tudor-set books out. And a very oldie but goodie is the late Victoria Holt who wrote nead Victorian-set suspense romances. I especially loved Menfreya in the Morning.
