By day I'm a bilingual social worker, by night I write. I've published four books: two collections of short stories, Rented Rooms and Thirst: a novel Paloma; and a nonfiction book on creative writing and self-publishing, Composition: A Fiction Writer's Guide for the 21st Century. Reviews, excerpts and more can be found on my website. My stories always have twists, lots of them. I am to please my reader, always.

Wow we do have a lot in common! It's my married name. I'm Scot-Irish and my maiden name is McDowell. It was quite a change but after 17 years of marriage I feel Cuban too!
