I'm totally thrilled about this contest -- it's really fired my own imagination and brightened a few days lately in the planning. I think America's Hero is my favorite book so far and I wanted to celebrate the 4th of July with launching my contest "Finding America's Hero".

Witch Magic -- the combined tome of Dime Store Magic and Industrial Magic by Kelley Armstrong

I'm experiencing what I usually do with a trilogy -- book 1 usually totally grabs me, 2 is pretty good and by 3 it seems like the author has kind of lost momentum. I'm not enjoying Dime Store Magic very much -- a good part of it is that she has three cats killed and maimed in a brutal way. I do like how Kelley Armstrong can write dark and gritty, but I draw the line at animals, especially cats, being hurt and killed. Paige is interesting -- I'm 100 pages in and waiting for the story to start --… Continue

STOLEN by Kelley Armstrong

I finished BITTEN and it has me totally hooked on Kelley Armstrong.

Last night I finished Stolen -- it wasn't quite as good but it was still a solid read. I think I wanted to see more of Clay than we saw - -but the books are Elena's stories. What I really like about this author is that her female character is the alpha of the pack. She calls the shots and is the one who does the "walk away" thing.

In Stolen you see a well developed progression in Elena's growth and development. Clay is Clay --… Continue

Bitten by Kelley Armstrong

I'm not a fan of first person

I am so burned out on werewolves and vampires.

I love Kelley Armstrong's Bitten - which I guess means I like some first person and her werewolves -- or one of them, that being Clay -- is a character I wish was real and in my life.

I've never read her before, but I've ordered her entire back list based on this one book -- Bitten.

She's gritty, there's blood and some gore - but you really want to help Elena go after the bad guys. And the way she feels about Clay I… Continue

Seriously? Family in Novato! You gotta let me know when you come visit! I'll be at a book signing on July 26 at Walden's in San Rafale with Karin Tabke and Carolyn Jewel if you're around.

What I'm reading now -- actually I'm almost done with Kelley Armstrong's Bitten and I'm surprised. I'm not a fan of first person and I'm not a fan of werewolves -- after reading Bitten, I think I'd read anything Ms. Armstrong writes! She certainly draws you in to the story, and makes you want to be a part of the pack
