I wish you great success with the writing of your first novel and those that will follow. This is a tough business, but with patience and persistence, you will find a publisher.

Hate to admit it but sometimes I am terribly slow at answering. Love the music.

((Thanks)) for playing along and entering the RD NGTCC contest.

If you need a second set of eyes on a chapter or two, don't hesitate to contact me. Honest! Contest or no contest! Sometimes I wonder if there's not more 'editor' in me than 'writer' and I luvluvluv both. Too bad I have to sleep now and again! lol

HI! ((Wave))
I'm Dee Dee from Millington, TN by way of St. Louis. I've been married for seven years to my wonderful husband who is medically retired from the Army and we have a beautiful 3 year old daughter. We're both in college now, I'm working on my Masters and he's working on the Bachelors. I'm also an aspiring writer currently trying my hand at my first paranormal romance novel. I'm sooo excited about it. Normally I dream of story plots and sub- plots, for book ideas. I actually watch the story unfold before my eyes and I manipulate it to flow the way I want it to go. In all honesty, that's what made me get my butt in gear to stop talking about writing and really start doing it.

I actually picked up reading for pleasure late in my mid-twenties. Since then I've been a voracious reader of books. I started out reading AA and historical romances but now I'm soo hooked on the paranormal, time travel and some contemporary novels. I just love 'em. I'm trying to figure out this book writing thing but it's hard to find a mentor will to share their knowledge. I'm hoping I can gain some insight through this site.

Found an Awesome Critique Partner

This has been a long process for me but I finally did it. I took the plunge and found a Critique Partner. In all honesty I wasn't sure how I felt about advertising for a CP over the internet or even in my own local RWA chapter. Aside from the few gracious published authors that offered to look over some of my work, I had very few people I trusted to eyeball a couple of pages here and there. We all have the fear of one day looking up and seeing your Novel sitting on the shelves at Barns and Noble… Continue

Lastest Thouhgts

Well I'm in my 3 or 4 month of trying to write this book. WOO HOO! I currently have 3 chapters completed, ok well two and one I need to add / change up a little. I have practically five pages of flash back, BIG mistake, right? So I need to fix that too. Argh it's so frustrating. I also think this issue is proving to be a real challenge for me. You see I'm not a fluid writer, I may start out writing about the fight scene one day and change gears and start writing a love scene. I think I’m trying… Continue

To use or not to use writing software?

Hi Victoria,

Okay, I have another question. Do you are or anyone you know use writing software? If so, have you ever heard of or used New Novelist software? And what would you recommend for a beginner? If anything at all. Currently I'm using my XP word processor. If anyone wants to asker this question please do. Delete Comment

The light bulb finally comes on.

Day 3- And Now I get it.

Well today I started researching the art of writing a romance novel. ;) Who knew it was so much to learn. I was so naive or I just did appreciate what work really went into writing a great novel. Sham on me for not respecting this craft. I don't know why I thought writing a novel would be as simple as putting my thoughts to paper. If that was the case, everyone would be able to do it. So in light of my "AHH HA" moment I went to Barns and Nobles and lost my mind the refe… Continue
