CMI, the local Christian radio station, asked if I would review books for them. If that wasn't great enough, they said they'd like to start off the sagment by announcing me, not as so and so's mom, or the youth pastors wife, or any thing like that but as an... author/speaker.

I was fourteen years old when I read Shana by Kathleen Woodiwiss. Oh dear, I can hear the outcry now. Your mother let you read Shana at that young an age? No, she sure didn’t because I didn’t tell her. I finished my short story and submitted my very first query letter! I recieved an email back the next morning asking me to submit the completed MS. So now I just have to wait.
