Excerpt from Postponing Eternity ~ Si’Ludo Prophesy: Book 1
“The only way I can prove to you that I wouldn’t hurt you is if you let me into your life. You need to open yourself up and trust that maybe your path is showing you the truth now. That there will be a man in your life.” He enfolded her in his arms again. “Trust me, Callie.”
She did feel safe and secure with him, but could she trust him? Was he the one who would stick around through all the thick and thin and love her unconditionally forever? Though he probably would claim to be that man, she was unsure and afraid. Her instincts screamed to use caution.
JT kissed the top of her head, then placed his chin in the spot.
We do fit nicely together. The slow sizzling burn flared. A fire of longing, of craving another’s pleasurable contact, blazed through her. Screw instincts. She pulled away and turned to him. Before he could question her actions, she grabbed the back of his head and brought his face close. She claimed his lips with hers and forced them open with her tongue. The kiss was urgent, exploratory, demanded a response.
He returned her ardor and thrust his tongue into her mouth. She caressed the strong muscles of his neck and his back, trying to bring him into her, to consume him like the burning rage engulfing her. Beneath her fingers and his clothes, his skin warmed. His heat roused her passion even more. She sought for and moved the bottom rim of his shirt. Slowly she slipped her fingers up and under the garment to explore his skin. She slid her hands along him and stroked the sides of his torso and back, then the base of his spine. He pulled away from the kiss, leaving her panting in need for another round.
“Beautiful,” he whispered, brushing his cheek along hers before capturing her lips again.
An alarm dinged in her head. The word he spoke triggered an awareness of a long ago event. She couldn’t quite remember it, but sensed the situation did not end well.
And you would be correct, the male voice in her mind stated.
