Well, I'm told there's no magic formula for stage fright. Take some deep breaths and try to keep going. When it comes to doing a reading, practice in front of people you know and trust. And for the real thing, imagine you're reading to those people you love and trust.
Yes, Mary, you're right about getting advice from an actor! He gave me some wonderful advice when I had to do a reading/book signing at my local library last spring. And since my current WIP features an actor hero, he's also helped me with my research. Guess you could say he's not only an acotr, but a wonderful friend as well!
Good to meet you here, Mary. I'm looking forward to the chat, too, though I'll probably be a bit nervous. But a very dear friend of mine who's an actor has given me good advice about conquering stage fright, so I think I'll be okay.
Wow! I'm surprised that you remember me and my western! Thank you for remembering!! I haven't written much more on my western, but just finished and submitted a time travel. I'm going back to work on the western again soon.
